Jürgen Köhler

Jürgen Köhler, LL.M. (London) joined the Berlin office of the media law firm Sasse & Partner in 2006, the predecessor of the company Sasse, Bachelin & Lichtenhahn Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB, founded in 2016. He has previously worked in London for an international law firm and completed his LL.M. degree with a master’s dissertation on “The Implications of New Technology on Intellectual Property Law”.

Jürgen’s focus is on advising national and international clients, particularly in the music, film, media, and entertainment industry. His clients include, inter alia, music labels and publishers, managements, agencies, start-ups, artists, producers, composers, and authors, whom he provides not only with legal and strategic advice but also with the negotiation, drafting and review of contracts in the areas of copyright, music and media law as well as in intellectual property law in German and English. Another focus of his advice is on national and international trademark law, including support in the strategic development of a trademark portfolio and contractual trademark issues as well as the registration, protection and defense of trademarks on a national and international level. Jürgen also takes on representation in trademark cases and matters concerning the German Patent- and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
